Desk- sorry if it makes you blue :(

Yes, it's blue right now- but honestly it is always just a can of paint away from being another color :)

Michael at frocking ceremony!

Michael sent this picture
He said it was for the ceremony
They had to make his rank
Official- and he got orders!
He got Norfolk, he should be there
In about 3 weeks for C school
And then he will be assigned
To the LPD 17 San Antonia.
It is a marine transport ship,
And can carry about 800 Marines.
Anyway, C school starts October 28,
And lasts 4 months, so he said he will
Contemplate when to take some leave,
But this looks very hopeful for the holidays!

other project

Poor bashed drawer- which fell to the pavement when we were moving it. Wood glue and putty to the rescue.

That's ok-  decoupage was the plan, even before it happened.

The shell WILL need to be painted. The veneer was chipped and peeling near the back on both sides.
I am strongly leaning towards my French Pale Blue. Doug says cream. The kids think black.

clock face table inspiration

Original inspiration
Ignore the thing where the  6 would be. I like the word Antiquities and the edge work.
sepia/ tan color inspiration on this one and the one below.

This is Very similar to the table on left

Black edge- and legs. maybe too heavy?
Except I Do like the one below...

Black face / white numbers. Doug sort of liked this one.

Beachy blue grey/ white numbers.

Headboard for Alaina

Obviously, I am having trouble photographing this in a good light.  Honestly, it looks cooler in person.

almost done

More pics on the progress of the "palm tree" china cabinet donated by Debbie.
After some discussion Doug and I thought it might be best to just take the doors off the top hutch part; which would make the interior color more visible, and as Doug said  "make it a little more multi purpose"- in other words one could use it for books as easily as china.

before
After- but I still need to put the hardware back on
