Waterfall dresser

A few weeks ago Douglas picked this lovely up for me - I'm pretty sure he said he got it for $35


My first thought was to do something similar to this:
Of course blue always sells easily enough:



But I am also considering doing something similar to Alaina's beast.
So far it just has primer

    The brown is too dark, but I think the idea of mimicking old luggage is lovely. May I suggest a brownish red leather look to it?
