A Prayer to St. Jude for Hope

God of hope, come to me. Help me to know that your hope is alive in me as I offer kindness, forgiveness, and tenderness to others.

I seek the inner calm that comes from trusting in you. Give me the courage to be aware of your healing presence.

May I trust that St. Jude walks with me in times of trouble, and intercedes on my behalf.

St. Jude, fill my heart with hope.

Amen.

Pretty, and not so pretty

So, we start with the pretty-- I thought I would share Genevieve's Latin homework with you, even though she thought my photographing her homework was "weird!"  They had to make a "dictionary"- which WAS allowed to be a picture dictionary.

This is the base for the china cabinet donated by Debbie-- you MIGHT consider this to be "pretty"- until you look closer.

This is my freebie dresser- from which I stole the knobs.

Hope springs eternal- but this one may be beyond saving.

Tables, and dressers and benches , Oh My!

What I have been working on:

 

 

These  are the 2 pie crust tables from Debbie; I told you about. They are only 20 inches tall and the tops are 12 1/2 in diameter.  I was wondering if you were going to chide me for touching them because of the leather tops?

One of the tables had a broken (split) leg that required it being disassembled and some wood glue.

A very clear representation of before and after- I am still unsure if anyone will want a matching set.

The sheet music is "Wine ,Women and Song"- a donation from Mom- and yes, she knew I was going to cut it up :)

My current project:  grey shell- thinking of doing old white drawers, but decided to sleep on it.

I just noticed

I was looking at Facebook,

And saw the new pictures of Eric and Amy,

And I was startled at how much of Dad

I see in Eric now.

I compared it to an older photo,

And I thought the older ones favored Doug

Much more, but especially in the lower face

I think he greatly resembles Dad at the same age now.
